Gmail Cleaner is a local-first web app that connects to your Gmail account via the Gmail API to help you clean up and organize your inbox in bulk. It provides a Gmail-style interface for quickly finding high-volume senders, unsubscribing from newsletters, and applying actions across many messages at once.

Key Features

  • Bulk unsubscribe from newsletters (automatic one-click when supported, or manual unsubscribe)
  • Bulk delete emails by sender, including selecting multiple senders with progress tracking
  • Bulk mark unread emails as read
  • Archive emails from selected senders (remove from inbox)
  • Label management (create/delete labels; apply/remove labels to emails)
  • Mark or unmark messages as important for selected senders
  • Smart filtering by date range, message size, Gmail category, sender, and labels
  • Export selected sender email metadata to CSV
  • Local execution with user-provided Google OAuth credentials

Use Cases

  • Unsubscribe from and remove accumulated newsletter and marketing email clutter
  • Identify top senders and bulk archive or delete old conversations to reduce mailbox size
  • Rapidly reach inbox zero by marking large batches of unread mail as read

Limitations and Considerations

  • Requires creating and configuring your own Google Cloud OAuth credentials to use the Gmail API
  • Google OAuth redirect URI constraints can affect remote access setups (domain required; IP-based redirects not supported)

Gmail Cleaner is suited for users who want a straightforward, privacy-minded way to perform high-volume Gmail maintenance actions from a simple web interface. It is especially useful for periodic inbox cleanup and sender-based bulk management.
